WoW! Over 85,000 gallons of crude oil spill into the Gulf of Mexico and you don’t even know!
Over 85,000 gallons of crude oil has spilled into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana. The spill came from a group of subsea wells run by Shell near the Shell’s Glider field, an underwater pipe system that connects four subsea wells to the Brutus platform. The oil and gas company has reported that the leak has been contained and that two separate companies are contracted to begin cleanup. Since the 2010 BP oil spill The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has been more stringent about restrictions, tightening regulations on offshore drilling and cleanup.
